Therapeutic Recreation (TR) is the use of recreational services to improve or maintain physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning, and to promote healthy, independent lifestyles.

Therapeutic recreation is about play - and so much more. For Therapeutic Recreation practitioners and their clients, it's about embracing challenges and helping people make the most of their lives. Therapeutic recreation is provided by professionals who are trained & certified, registered and / or licensed to provide Therapeutic Recreation

Leisure and recreation are essential parts of a healthy life. Research has clearly shown that physical activity, stress reduction, good nutrition, mental stimulation & friendships are needed for good health!

We offer Therapeutic Recreational activities seven days a week. We have a planning committee that organizes group activities. With the help of our active Activities Volunteers, we offer physical, spiritual, social, and leisure activities to all our residents. We strive to meet all resident requests for activities; to ensure that residents' individualized interests are addressed to the best of our abilities. So whether it's a rousing BINGO game, sharing a picnic, or a trip to the local "fishin hole"; stop by and see what we are doing!

Our Therapeutic Recreation Activities department is lead by Krista Ducker, CTRS.
